I have been hearing a lot about trying to negotiate with communities of faith and get them on our side from a lot of leaders in our community. Wait, leaders isn’t the word I’m thinking of – whipped pussies seems to be more like it simply because they do not have the courage to come out and say what needs to be said. Believing this is like Obama not doing shit for the advancement of our equal rights, or health care, or pretty much anything at all because he is so worried about being viewed as non-partisan. I am not a fan of “affirming” or gay-friendly churches/denominations of the Christian, Jewish and Islamic faiths for many different reasons. I am unlikely to change my view either until I see a positive change in the lives of LGBT people simply because a church, religion or denomination has become more affirming of gay people. However, what I do see is evidence that strongly leads into the negative – that LGBT people are actively and continually discriminated against by the three big Judeo-Christian religions and even some of the smaller cults (I’d say religions but cults and religions are pretty much the same thing).

Gay people have an astounding gift that no other population has, even if it means we are subject to discrimination by these very people. We get to see the emperor with no clothes for what he truly is and we are under no real obligation to say differently because we experience the tyranny of this emperor and his minions first hand but they do not hold our lives in the balance as much anymore. While they try to exert what control they can get over us, such as denying us the right to visit our dying partners in the hospital or the ability for doctors and scientists to study the HIV/AIDS virus in order to find a cure, they no longer have the right to put us to death anymore. I guess that is one advance that we do take for granted but we should not be thanking the churches for this advance, for many of them have and are sneering at the fact that they cannot legally stone gay people because their book of fairy tales says to. Instead, gay people should look at this information, look at the acts and history of the church and tell yourself – is this really something you want to be supporting with your hard earned money and time? Hell, we know that the Christian faith, given the window of opportunity, would advocate for the death of gays in a culture that is not as enlightened. Is this belief system, which encourages misogyny, internalized homophobia and an unhealthy “holier than thou” superiority complex because you were able to jump the gate of common sense and believe this nonsense something that you wish to espouse? We know what the Christian church has done, and in many ways is still doing, to the LGBT population and we really need to speak out and put a stop to it.

Being gay is diametrically opposed to the core scripture and beliefs of the main doctrine of all three of the major Judeo-Christian religions. There is a real stigma against being gay in the Baha’i Faith as well but since I do not know that much about the Baha’i Faith, I do not think that I would be well equipped to debate it. However, apologists and gay people who are uncomfortable with standing up for the right to be who they truly are need to stop defending the Christian church. It really does come off as being the wife who defends the husband that beats her. Not only is it not cool but it actively hurts us and could even cause us to die if it were to have it’s way. The Christian faith is centred upon an act of capital punishment, while Judaism and Islam are just about commandments to kill all of the infidels.

LGBT Christians are problematic in the equal rights movements because they enable the largest force that oppresses us in the Western world, but LGBT Catholics are worse off. While Dignity USA, a curiously named group of LGBT Catholics, has no actual support from the Vatican or the official Catholic enterprise (d/b/a Jesus, Inc.), they are helping the church to oppress gay people simply through the idea that it’s okay to be Catholic. And no, Catholics don’t want to oppress gay people – they want to oppress all people to the point that they want to receive a tithe from every breathing person on the face of the earth. The Catholics, like all Christians, see rational thinking as the anti-Christ and work to vilify it as much as possible, which makes me feel very sad for these LGBT Catholics who just cannot leverage one of the greatest benefits of being queer, vilification from religious people and the subsequent freedom from their religious bullshit. They should free themselves from the Catholic machine as well because tithes could be better spent giving to organizations that support our rights rather than try to oppress them, or some really trippy furniture from IKEA. Anything but giving it to a group of hate mongers that would actually threaten to deny services to the homeless if there was even a hint of allowing marriage equality in Washington, DC.

As Reed and I have said before when we have written about the subject of LGBT Christians, we have said that being queer is a way to truly be liberated from the clutches of religion. Since most of the mainstream (and many of the smaller) cults hate us for being who we are, we should leverage that hate against us to document well the history of these faith communities and our movement to ensure that young queers 100 years from now stand up for their own rights and are not oppressed when the strangers with candy come by the house again. Do you remember when you went out to trick or treat, you were essentially told that your candy was to be checked before you were allowed to even touch a piece of it? This struck me as odd when I was a little child because I wondered what kind of sick motherfucker would molest a little piece of candy like that (in elementary school, my DARE essay won me a medal that is likely gathering dust in some garage in rural Texas). I mean, compared to the here and now, where I have a fully legal and current medical marijuana license and can smoke freely within my own apartment (unless, of course, I move to Snow Lion and in that case, my MMJ license because damn near useless then). LGBT Christians and their advocate groups are the Strangers with Candy and there is no telling how badly they will fuck you up if you get into the car with them, although I will tell you that with Catholicism – it is very bad. The mental damage will be so bad that it will likely take years, even decades for some people, before you finally shed yourself of that “Catholic guilt” (which is actually brainwashing) and are able to move on and live your life.

I mean, it’s not Catholics that are anti-gay because the whole Catholic church is gayer than the Metropolitan Community Church. Come on, the men dress up in dresses and funny little hats and hang around altar boys all the time. The act of communion is essentially kneeling down with your mouth open in front of a man in a dress, how can you say that it is not gay? The Catholics are very queeny when it comes to their religion, to the point where I have seen drag shows that the Catholic sense of ceremony will turn into quite a drab affair. And of course, we have the unspeakable things that priests do to altar boys that the Catholic church not only forgives, but also abuses the victims (and their families) and works to protect the child molester priest, allowing him to circumvent justice from ever being served. And this is my problem with Catholicism, it is namely only gay when it is convenient to them and all of the Catholic stage managers will deny this until the day that they either die or become sane. Yet, one more reason why there is nothing about the Catholic church that could even be remotely referred to as “Dignity”.

The one thing about being Catholic in general (not just a gay or straight issue) is that to be a Catholic, you immediately have to hate everything that is essentially human about yourself. The Vatican and every other Catholic church might as well be made of metal and gears because that would be a much more fitting image of what the Catholic church really is and how much they really care about you. The Catholic church is nothing more than an enterprise, plain and simple, and one of the many things that the Catholics hate about gays, lesbians and transsexuals is that we cannot reproduce as easily as the majority of their other stupid parishioners. They hate us because we cannot easily produce at least 5 children which will go off, get married and generate more tithes and thus, more revenue for the church. They hate us because of the fact that we cannot breed like rabbits and in order to have children, we need to do serious planning, whether it is adoption for gay and transsexual people or in vitro fertilization for lesbians (and some transmen, such as Mr. Beatty). We cannot reproduce with wild abandon so we must be evil and homosexuality must be discouraged in order for the machine to keep operating once again. Where is the Dignity in that?

The one thing that Catholics are so very against is the very fact that there is nothing wrong at all with being human and they are afraid of people who know this because of the fact that they might throw a monkey wrench into a small gear in the Catholic machine. To be a Catholic, you immediately have to hate everything about yourself and be willing to follow the priesthood (since there is no God that they claim to speak for) blindly to take out a third mortgage on your home. If you dare to leave the church, they have been known to hire debt collection agencies to come and get your tithe out of you in any way possible. Like Reed and I have said on our own individual blogs time and time again, LGBT Christians are confusing but LGBT Catholics are just mentally ill, to put it as lightly and bluntly as I possibly can. If there is one thing about Catholics and Southern Baptists that is the same, other than their overwhelming hate for one another (sometimes, I wonder why there are not pipe bombs strewn about like the current battle with the Sunnis and the Shiites) is their level of brainwashing because I can attest to the fact that while in the Southern Baptist faith, not only have I been brainwashed, but wrung, pressed and neatly hung – with any “stains” of doubt or freedom of thought to be removed in order to make us the most valuable adherents. Catholicism is a machine, cold and heartless and I must ask any LGBT Catholic reading this, where is the dignity in that? Where is the love and kindness in that? If you want real, true Dignity, stand up for yourself and shed the doctrine that oppresses us all – be courageous and never let anyone get you down. Speak out, and speak up.

When I was in high school, I remember my mum getting pulled over by a cop when she was driving us to church. As she was talking to the cop, she explained to him that she was going to church with us (I knew that if in the event of a shootout, we would be used as human shields, my sister was oblivious to this fact) and she was putting her fat arm under the seat to check if her Smith & Wesson was still under the seat. The cop came back to the van and he told us that he was going to give us a warning and we happily went on our way to church from there. I sighed a big relief because it meant no hostage situation but now that I am older and have spent quite a bit of quality time away from my family here in beautiful Colorado, I just suddenly remembered this. But why is it that people generally get cut a break whenever they are doing something religious rather than secular?

I can tell you that it was not simply because my mother was an upstanding citizen and upheld the law to a point that is unseen around Houston. In fact, I doubt I remember a time when there wasn’t some ticket she had to pay or a warrant out for her arrest but I do remember that she started using church and religion as an excuse to get out of any legal jam that she got into. In fact, I kinda wondered how the Tomball Police and Harris County Sheriffs did not memorize this woman, who would get pulled over at least a couple times a week for speeding or reckless driving (that I know of) but never got a ticket nor had her license taken away. One day, after my mother was taking me to a psychiatrist to get a refill on my psychotropic meds (I probably would have made the Elvis autopsy look like small work at the young age of 10) so I would be so stoned out of my gourd not to think to assert myself enough to tell them I wanted to be a girl again, she got pulled over and was handing a ticket. She has tried to fool the cops out of tickets in so many ways, even bribery (sometimes, this worked) but there was no way that was better than identifying herself as a member of Jesus’ little cult and getting waved through as a member of the Good Ol’ Boys society. Goddess, don’t you just love Texas justice? (And no, I don’t mean the daytime television court show that unemployed people watch, of course I would know nothing about that…)

My mum wasn’t a good woman by any stretch of the imagination, and I can honestly say that without any exaggeration or ego making it worse than it actually is. Besides emotionally and physically abusing my sister and I (my sister, however, has repressed it to the point where she actually thinks that I am the abuser simply because my parents said so – classic Stockholm syndrome), she has done a number of other shitty things. She was arrested for attempting to bring a pocket knife into Six Flags Astroworld (what she was doing there, I have no idea what-so-ever) and has a few felony charges of embezzlement (she skimmed money off of the books for girl scout troupe dues) and burglary. She gambled, drank, lied and done all sorts of things that you are not supposed to do when you are a Christian. In fact, when I phoned her from Bangkok to let her know that I have had Sex Reassignment Surgery, she told me that she wanted to see the results (which, considering the fact that she does not want to see me, has made me wonder about a few things). However, she claims to be a proper Christian woman and she believes that Jesus himself is going to pick me up and throw me into the pits of hell for writing articles such as this about my family and for the fact that I have the audacity to be an atheist Buddhist transsexual woman. She said that I essentially spit in Jesus’ eye when I had my SRS (to which, I said that if he was real, I hoped for the opportunity to throw the bag with my ‘remains’ in his face). And for being a good fat god-fearing, gay-hating (honestly, who could hate Reed, he’s cute!) Southern Baptist – she gets many opportunities to circumvent the judicial system in Texas using the Good Ol’ Boys connections (despite the fact that my father was a lapsed Catholic).

I could not be able to do this if I were driving simply because of the fact that if I owned a car (I don’t, I take public transit anywhere I need to go and it gets me anywhere I need to go), I would probably have quite a few bumper stickers on it (and not just on the bumper). Stickers such as the pride flag, celebrate diversity, a few of the stickers from the EvolveFISH store and a Darwin Fish would adorn my car. I am not a Christian and I will not debase myself enough to say that I am, simply because I have enough self-respect not to call myself ugly names like Christian. Even if I get a ticket anyway, at least I will have a ticket. And yes, I likely will get a ticket because bad driving seems to run in the family (my father and sister are bad drivers too, although they haven’t pulled the Jesus card nearly as much as my mother).

If you are the author of this list, please contact me and let me know. I will be very grateful for that.

It is likely that state and federal holidays coincide with my religious practices, thereby having little to no impact on my job and/or education.

I can talk openly about my religious practices without concern for how it will be received by others.

I can be sure to hear music on the radio and watch specials on television that celebrate the holidays of my religion.

When told about the history of civilization, I am can be sure that I am shown people of my religion made it what it is.

I can worry about religious privilege without being perceived as “self-interested” or “self-seeking.”

I can have a “Jesus is Lord” bumper sticker or Icthus (Christian Fish) on my car and not worry about someone vandalizing my car because of it.

I can share my holiday greetings without being fully conscious of how it may impact those who do not celebrate the same holidays. Also, I can be sure that people are knowledgeable about the holidays of my religion and will greet me with the appropriate holiday greeting (e.g., Merry Christmas, Happy Easter, etc.).

I can probably assume that there is a universality of religious experience.

I can deny Christian Privilege by asserting that all religions are essentially the same.

I probably do not need to learn the religious or spiritual customs of others, and I am likely not penalized for not knowing them.

I am probably unencumbered by having to explain why I am or am not doing things related to my religious norms on a daily basis.

I am likely not judged by the improper actions of others in my religious group.

If I wish, I can usually or exclusively be among those from my religious group most of the time (in work, school, or at home).

I can assume that my safety, or the safety of my family, will not be put in jeopardy by disclosing my religion to others at work or at school.

It is likely that mass media represents my religion widely AND positively.

It is likely that I can find items to buy that represent my religious norms and holidays with relative ease (e.g., food, decorations, greeting cards, etc.).

I can speak or write about my religion, and even critique other religions, and have these perspectives listened to and published with relative ease and without much fear of reprisal.

I could write an article on Christian Privilege without putting my own religion on trial.

I can travel without others assuming that I put them at risk because of my religion; nor will my religion put me at risk from others when I travel.

I can be financially successful without the assumption from others that this success is connected to my religion.

I can protect myself (and my children) from people who may not like me (or them) based on my religion.

Law enforcement officials will likely assume I am a non-threatening person if my religion is disclosed to them. In fact, disclosure may actually help law enforcement officials perceive me as being “in the right” or “unbiased.”

I can safely assume that any authority figure will generally be someone of my religion.

I can talk about my religion, even proselytize, and be characterized as “sharing the word,” instead of imposing my ideas on others.

I can be gentle and affirming to people without being characterized as an exception to my religion.

I am never asked to speak on behalf of all Christians.

My citizenship and immigration status will likely not be questioned, and my background will likely not be investigated, because of my religion.

My place of worship is probably not targeted for violence because of sentiment against my religion.

I can be sure that my religion will not work against me when seeking medical or legal help.

My religion will not cause teachers to pigeonhole me into certain professions based of the assumed “prowess” of my religious group.

I will not have my children taken from me from governmental authorities who are aware of my religious affiliation.

Disclosure of my religion to an adoption agency will likely not prevent me from being able to adopt children.

If I wish to give my children a parochial religious education, I probably have a variety of options nearby.

I can be sure that my children will be given curricular materials that testify to the existence and importance of my religion.

I can be sure that when someone in the media is referring to G-d, they are referring to my (Christian) G-d.

I can easily find academic courses and institutions that give attention only to people of my religion.

My religious holidays are so completely “normal” that, in many ways, they may appear to no longer have any religious significance at all.

The elected and unelected officials of my government probably are members of my religious group.

When swearing an oath, I am probably making this oath by placing my hand on the scripture of my religion.

I can openly display my religious symbol(s) on my person or property without fear of disapproval, violence, and/or vandalism.

Author’s Note: I am posting this on the Gaytheists because even though this may not completely be a religious issue, it is a LGBT issue that we should all be aware of.

Today, I was perusing the White House’s website for design inspiration (hey, Obama and his web design team create some really neat shit) and I decided out of curiousity to look back at a few pages for President Obama’s statements of commitment to our community. After all, he did promise us a lot of things when he was campaigning, did he not? Well, I was looking on his website and it turns out that anything about the LGBT community disappeared from nearly every page on the Issues section of his website. This is not the first time the President or his staff have done this, as discovered by Joe My God and a number of other bloggers. Yet, if you dig deep enough into the Organizing for America website (what Barack Obama’s campaign site turned into after he became President), you will still see the commitment to the LGBT communinty, including the Matthew Shepard Act and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (not the SPLENDA, the Spilt ENDA, that HRC and Log Cabin Republicans were gunning for in 2008). What happened to ENDA and the Matthew Shepard Act, President Obama? What happened to your commitment to community that you spoke about during your campaign trail, Mr. President?

Mr. President, as a transsexual woman, the most important things to me, my specific community and my life are the gender-inclusive ENDA and the hate crimes bill. However, even though I am not a lesbian, I know many loving and wonderful people in the LGBT community and I believe that they should have the right to get married like any other couple in the United States. We have relationships in our community that have endured and thrived for decades without marriage, which just goes to show that our community likely can handle marriage. My parents were straight, except for that bit about my father sexually abusing me when I was a child, but I do have to say that to avoid giving gay men and lesbians the fundamental right to marry is tantamount to the Jim Crow laws of old. I have to say that I am sorry that Hilary did not snatch the nomination from you because you are turning out to be one of the sorriest presidents in history when it comes to fulfilling your promises. Not only have you not signed any new legislation into law since October (2 months ago!) but you have apparently decided to shaft the LGBT community after all of the promises you have made to us. Like Bill Maher said, I am out of hope but full of audacity.

President Obama has consistently made clear that he will strive to lead the most open, transparent, and accountable government in history. Whether it is reigning in the influence of lobbyists in Washington, bringing unprecedented accountability to federal spending, opening doors to engagement with the American public, or shutting down the “revolving door” that carries special interest influence in and out of the government, the highest standards will be sought in every thing the federal government does.

How about some of that accountability you keep talking about, Mr. President? Where did your commitment go?

I had recently made a video on YouTube regarding the situation in Uganda, where the government is considering a new law that would legalize genocide on a population with a certain innate trait, specifically – homosexuality. And of course, as we all know, the inspiration of genocide came from Western forces and influences where they are trying to get a foreign government to execute homosexuals but only because of Christian values instead of the governments that do it on Muslim values. However, this one guy who commented on my video tried to tell me that essentially, the Ugandan government is right in legalizing the government’s genocide campaign against gay people. This personally sickens me that someone would willingly support genocide of people who are not like him just because they have the courage to be who they are and love another human being. In this world, where it can be cold and heartless at times, he faults these people and thinks they deserve death just because these people are not just like him. Furthermore, he comes after me for speaking against Uganda’s genocide and says that my empathy towards any gay men and lesbians who are unfortunate enough to live in Uganda is unwelcome simply because of the fact that I live in a Western culture. But what this man needs most, indeed what Uganda needs most is empathy for those whom are threatened by this action.

Empathy is a trait that, sadly, is not too common in our society or in many societies but it is a trait that we so sorely need. We need it simply because of the fact that our society can be so cruel, so heartless at times and we do not understand that such cruelty and malice is not needed in the least bit. Yet, religious people whom live in the death cult of Jesus Christ have no empathy since they do not honour nor enjoy their own lives. They literally cannot wait to die and their eyes light up at the prospect of a new war, which just might indicate “end times”. That and the fact that they worship the crucifixion of the son of God are the main reasons why I have no reason to believe anything other than the fact that the Christian religion is an ignorant desert death cult. When you wish for death, actively and fervently, you have no real desire to make the world you live in a much better place, to help improve conditions in this world so people do not have to be senselessly killed simply because of some homicidal cultists who say that their 2,000 year old book of fairy tales commands them to murder and that it should be okay with you. Yet again, it is another example of how Christians actively disrespect us all by cramming their theology down our throats and at a grave human cost. In the words of the ever-wise ABBA, people need hope, trust in your fellow man, love but what they do not need is an uncaring, unfeeling, unloving death cult.

The only thing I can see that would be considered good would be the fact that gay men and lesbians might be able to go to the Canadian embassy in Uganda and try to get the ball rolling to try to immigrate to Canada based on humanitarian reasons. I would love to advocate for these people to try to make their home a much better place but if they are put to death, they cannot be much use. Instead, I must beg you to go to your Canadian embassy or the embassy in Nairobi (which provides a full range of services to Ugandan citizens whereas the Ugandan high commission does not) and find out how to immigrate to Canada on humanitarian grounds. Canada would make a much better choice than the United States since Canada is more pro-gay than we are here in the United States. You can also claim asylum status by flying into Canada and making that claim at the airport, but be careful not to stop into the United States on the way, otherwise you will be forced to file your refugee case in the United States and could be subject to more prejudice from American Immigration officials. Once you are in Canada, you can let others in Canada know about your protest and struggles, talk to the media and even protest outside the Ugandan High Commission as someone who successfully escaped a country that was threatening you with genocide. If no one can see you protest, a martyr’s death will have been for naught and we do not wish that of you. After all, we have empathy.

For anyone who is curious, here is what I had to say to the guy who thought genocide was good:

On my other article that I had posted about the Mormons this morning, I noticed that someone had added a link to a page on the LDS website about mor(m)on discipline for serious charges. Among these are the normal serious ones, you know the things that actually harm people but I noticed that abortion, transsexual operations and homosexual relationships was on that list. Of course, I assume that you noticed the fact that polygamy was not on that list (I will quote it for you below in case you did not get to see it in the comments of my last post). And of course, the Mormon church itself can be accused of fraud (one of the “transgressions” mentioned below), when they actively told their members in California which way to vote and thus, violating their tax exempt status. But we are never going to see the Mormon church hold their own higher ups accountable for their transgressions in either a court of law nor a “disciplinary council”, are we? So as usual, religion gets a free pass to commit whatever crimes that it wishes, who would have thought it?

Disciplinary councils may also be convened to consider a member’s standing in the Church following serious transgression such as abortion, transsexual operation, attempted murder, rape, forcible sexual abuse, intentionally inflicting serious physical injuries on others, adultery, fornication, homosexual relations, child abuse (sexual or physical), spouse abuse, deliberate abandonment of family responsibilities, robbery, burglary, embezzlement, theft, sale of illegal drugs, fraud, perjury, or false swearing.

I can understand the ban against abortion in the Mormon church, even though I do not support it. It is basically your standard bullshit Judeo-Christian doctrine which blames Eve (and takes it out against all women) for a number of hefty charges but the most frequent one is original sin. And women have gotten the short end of the stick, ever since God got pissed off for Eve eating some fruit. Basically, they want to force women into being incubators against their will and they want to reduce the amount of control women have in this society, back to the point where they are property of their husbands or fathers once again. How very egalitarian and this is why you get Christian preachers of all strands bashing feminism along with homosexuality. And of course, this makes feminists paranoid and do some really evil shit like pretending that transsexuals aren’t women. Of course, a number of sane feminists see this for the cissexist bullshit that it is but there are a few that are successfully fooled and think that for some strange reason, transsexuals are men that are trying to take down the movement. In other words, they start believing some really deluded shit.

Homosexuality is something that the mormons absolutely hate, as evidenced by their violation of the conditions of their tax-exempt status to help pass Proposition 8, which narrowed the definition of marriage and enshrined discrimination. And this is nothing new in the Christian world, as many Christian denominations are anti-gay. Do they have something to hide mayhaps? Here is one scenario that I have thought up: When Adam left Eve for his life partner Steve, once Seth was born, homosexuals have gotten the short end of the stick as well. This is probably because these ignorant men from the middle east could not accept the fact that their primary patriarch was a little light in the loafers. They are angry and they do not want you to know the truth of their religion (that it is absolutely make believe) and the fact that Adam could very well have been gay. I mean, I never heard any story in the Bible when Adam was aroused by Eve so maybe Adam was gay but on the down low since he didn’t want to piss god off too much. He probably worried that if he pissed off god too much, men would be the ones that got pregnant.

As for transsexual operations, who they hurt, really? How can you even logically compare them to murder, sexual assault or any of the other things on that list? I mean, what is next, denying your members the right to partake in blood transfusions, or just denying them the right to any health care at all? How is it that you feel that you have the right to deny another human being the proper medical care for a condition that they have and have been struggling with for many years? Transsexuals really do not choose to be transsexuals, I know that there are better things I could have done with the $12,000 I have already put into my own transition, along with the $4,550 more for additional surgeries and air travel, $600 for legal fees (and related expenses) and over $9,000 that I will have to undoubtedly put in for laser hair removal and electrolysis. Add in $150 each month for my hormone replacement therapy and you have a pretty large bill to pay and that just barely scratches the surface. And yet, that is only the monetary issue, not to mention the fact that you lose a lot of people in your life who cannot accept the fact that you have transitioned. They cannot be happy for you because of the fact that their bigotry is just too strong and demanding.

Fortunately, the Mormon form of “discipline” is laughable and any punishment they may hand down may very well be seen as a benefit. I say this simply because the best case scenario is that they do excommunicate you and maybe then, you will finally get to think for yourself. And wouldn’t that be nice, the ability to see reality for what it really is, and not with Jesus blinders on? Any member of the LGBT community has no place in the mormon church anyway simply because these people see us as being like murderers, child molesters and sexual abusers. If they wish to degrade us that low, do we really want to be a member of their cult, because that is what it is. I say that I am thankful for this form of Mormon “discipline” because there is nothing better you can do for a person than helping them to take the first step towards thinking for themselves. Wouldn’t it be so nice to live in a world of people who actually think for themselves instead of believing what they are told simply because they have been told this since their childhood?

The other day, I received a comment on an old post I wrote about about the Mormon cult and she made quick work of telling me how she felt I was hypocrite simply because of the fact that I dislike how the Mormon cult abused it’s tax exempt status, lobbied against gays and had the gall to walk up to my door and try to preach to me. Well, I do have something to say, which I thought up as I was about to take a shower so that I could calm my nerves, relax and maybe get a few hours of shut eye (wouldn’t that be nice). Christians must go back into the closet, shut the door and leave us gay people alone because, after all, that is what the Bible says. However, Christianity will not stop it’s assault on equal rights, which in the end will make the church look like the bigoted assholes they truly are.

People of faith will likely say that they were (or are) only doing what the Bible says that they must do and it is not their fault that the Christian faith is grossly homophobic (to put it lightly). However, I am here to say that it is, you cannot hide behind scripture and religious bullshit is not a legitimate reason to discriminate against others. I would like to think that the people who are so opposed to homosexuality would not be so opposed to it if they were not indoctrinated with religious bullshit at a young age. These useful idiots do not know the ramifications of what they are doing and they unlikely will ever know because enlightenment to Christians, is like sunlight to a vampire. However, this does not make them innocent since they are told at every turn by sane people that what they are doing is wrong and if they were willing to stop and think about this for more than a few moments, they would see how horrible their actions really are. They would see how their virtue of not thinking instantly turned them into Nazi sympathizers, helping to drive gay and transgender people towards the back of the bus, and in the Bible belt, to justify their murders. If I were a person of faith, this would create so much shame and embarrassment towards me, but if I were still a person of faith, I would not have the clarity of mind to transition or even think for myself since that is, after all, one of the worst sins in Christianity.

I remember the “See You at the Pole” ceremony that was held each and every year at my high school and likely still is being held there. I remember the only year I did not participate and it was because I had a Student Government meeting and this was in middle school. They publicly prostrate themselves around the flagpole at school, sing hymns and do all sorts of weird crazy Christian shit that would humiliate any rational person. However, while I was going to school either in middle school or high school, my school district was dragging it’s feet at the creation of a Gay Straight Alliance at another high school. And I remember that when this happened, they started requiring parent’s permission before anyone was allowed to join any student organization and I do distinctly remember the GSA down in Klein High School being cited as the reason why.

Let met tell you that any sane gay person (and yes, I do mean sane, which automatically excludes people currently suffering from the induced ex-gay illness) is either an atheist or a member of a faith that is not a part of the Judeo Christian edifice. Not only are we not in the crazy Christian cult, many of us have worked pretty damned hard to get to where we are now in our lives and we have had to fight believers and those whom profess to love us to finally live our lives as we should be living. If you believe, guess what, we have no interest in believing as you do, we do not envy you, we pity you (if we truly know that religion is bullshit and have not just left out of the fact that the Christian church is homophobic and xenophobic). Reconciling your Christian or Islamic faith with homosexuality and transsexuality is not a virtue, it is a cancer that you are willingly infecting the gay community with. The LGBTQ community has one very good thing about the fact that we are so victimized by the Christian faith and it is the fact that no only will we not be Christians any time soon, but we will remember the struggles we have had against people of faith due to their hatred and bigotry and we will teach our children and our families about these issues between the LGBTQ community and the church. This will help to at least loosen the stranglehold of the priesthood on their cash crop, the mindless sheep that happen to walk into their building, empty their pockets, and leave. And maybe we can use Christianity’s history of bigotry, bloodshed, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, ignorance and violence to put it right back where it belongs. In the closet.

Christians always masturbate over, er I mean fantasize, about what it would be like to be living in heaven and being with God. But given what I (and any other Christian who has actually and thoughtfully read the Bible, you know, ex-Christians) know about the Christian view of the end times, what we can all expect can only be described as the horror of World War II and Nazi Germany. However, unlike Nazi Germany, this is all planned out by an all-powerful, immortal dictator who cannot die and has long-since went mentally insane. But that does not stop Christians believing that the Christian view of end times is good and that they should praise god for being so utterly wonderful to create a place that is a lot like Nazi Germany, including all of the events and features of Nazi Germany. So, I am going to explain, to the best of my ability how the Christian picture of the end times equates to Nazi Germany. Hopefully, this analytical approach will get a few people to see that the god of the Bible, who is touted as being all-loving and benevolent is actually evil and malevolent. However, I intend to use actual comparisons based on what we know from historical accounts of life in Nazi Germany, as a citizen of Germany, of Europe and as a resident of the death camps. However, I do hope that in my work, that I do not diminish the importance of remembering the Holocaust or the fact that unlike what is depicted in Christian folklore, the Holocaust actually happened.

How did Hitler get the German people to go along with his plan, recruiting so many citizens for his Nazi army? Well, he promised Lebensraum (or “living space”, as it is translated) to the German people by taking over as much of Europe as humanly possible during his regime. He promised that the “master race” would excel over all others and this allowed him to exterminate anyone who was not German. The same thing is happening with heaven, since Christians think that it is a good idea to destroy this world, off all of the non-believers for endless torture and pain for mocking them with logic, reason and facts and have their Lebensraum with der Fuhrer, the Lord their God. Apparently, they will be the “master race” because of the fact that they are “bathed in the blood of the Lamb”, which to be honest sounds a lot like it was pulled from the sick mind of Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs (fun fact: He was displaced by the Nazis during his childhood, in the movie “Hannibal Rising“, which depicts Hannibal’s young life).

Europe had much to fear from Hitler’s Nazi government as one by one, they tried their best to take over Europe and displace many citizens of the countries it attempted to take over. Once, I remember reading a play aloud called “You Can’t Do Business With Hitler” and it depicted some of the gruesome things that the Nazis did during their conquest of Europe. Many of these things included murdering citizens of other countries and whole towns on a massive scale, many included taking what little food they had and basically starving those who were native to that country and there was much blood shed across Europe. Basically, is this not what the God of the Bible threatens to do – become a Christian or be ousted out of your home town, state/province, country, continent, even planet? He intends to cause all sorts of civil unrest, but he does not intend to just give us the quick release of death – that would be too easy. Instead, he intends to send us to something worse than the death camps, that I will mention below my next point.

If you thought that any sort of description of the Nazi death camps was horrific, you will find it horribly offensive what the Christians approve of their god sending you to – a life camp. Specifically, a camp where you will be tortured to no end for your entire life and this is basically all that your eternal life is. Since they believe in the idea that Jesus gave us all eternal life, where we go is contingent on whether or not we accept the bullshit lies of Christianity, along with all of the evil and all of the homophobia, transphobia, ignorance and misogyny of the Christian religion. Basically, while many Christians will try to backpeddle, tell you that it is all just a figure of speech, that there is no hell where you will be tortured endlessly in God’s lake of fire – I will tell you that it is not a just a figure of speech. Christians actually believe that those who do not believe will be sent to a literal lake of fire to be tortured forever starting at the point of Judgement Day and only people who act as assanine as the Phelps clan will see the pearly gates of heaven and rub shoulders with der Furher, the Lord their God.

We must not forget the horrors of tyranny, war, genocide, eugenics and what the true cost of these events were because we allowed them to carry on for as long as they did. We must remember that we need to stand against oppression and evil in all of it’s forms. The good thing about the Bible is that it is not true at all and that the evil things that it threatens to those that do not believe are never going to happen. However, these people support these things happening to us and personally, I find it a very telling thing that they would be able to enjoy their heaven knowing that a good portion of the world’s historical populace is going to be burning right under them.

Hello everyone, I am back after gaining about 40 pounds since I have come back from Thailand. But now that I am on a diet and super-bitchy as a result, it is time to disprove some imaginary friends here. And there is one thing I know offhand to do this – the mere existence of transsexuals. Transsexuals are proof that there is not an all-loving creator who perfectly created us. Just like anyone else born with a birth defect, transsexuals have to go through a lot to overcome their birth defect.

The treatment of transsexuals, by believers, is at best disrespectful and at worst, a violation of their humanity. It is due to the very nature of our ailment that most Christians despise us. This makes it much harder for us to procure equal rights or even the right to treatment in some Western countries.

In addition, the false belief in god engenders other false beliefs, which include the ideas that transsexuality is a choice and that gender is the same as physical sex. These harm transsexuals by hampering understanding, encouraging people to try to stop their loved ones from finally living the life they should live and keeping procedures to correct the body seen as ‘elective’ procedures, rather than necessary medical treatments.
