Adults were generally careful not to bring up the subject when we were around, or to use sex-oriented language, and to avoid discussions that might inspire us to ask questions. Because they knew that the concept of sex would seem so outrageous to us that it might "disturb" us. But once we got to be somewhere in our teens, the rules relaxed a little. Now it was okay to talk about people having relationships, or having babies, or wanting to be "alone together," etc. Gradually, the reality of it was introduced, because it was understood that sooner or later we could no longer be sheltered from a perfectly ordinary reality. We were too old for the adults to go on pretending that sex didn't exist. In the same way, these childlike individuals who want gays to continue lying, denying and pretending need to find a way to grow the F up. Gay sex is just as much a reality as any other kind of sex. Gay relationships are real. Gay love is real. And to go on sweeping it under the rug to avoid disturbing or offending people who should have grown up a long time ago is just stupid. It's about time to hear someone taking a stand and speaking out against homophobes who refuse to look past their own ignorance and forget that you are just a human being. Flesh and bone like everyone else. I have no first hand understanding of the feelings associated with homophobia (I love gay people!!), but I imagine that bigots must see you as some kind of horrible cock eating monster.
